FIRE STOPPING
SOLUTIONS
FPCS also has extensive experience of designing, installing and maintaining firestopping solutions

Fire stopping is best defined as the sealing of any openings to prevent fire (including smoke and heat) from passing through multiple building compartments. The spread of a fire is contained by creating fireresisting compartments, which subdivide the building (vertically or horizontally)

We are experts in nuclear facilities where requirements may be more stringent, include provision for relative movement and gas tightness, and protection against differing and more severe fire conditions (such as hydrocarbon and jet fires). Penetration sealing systems are vital in maintaining compartmentation and preventing fire and smoke, effective penetration sealing is crucial to the overall performance of the fire protection system and prevents the passage of smoke and fire through gaps around services in walls, floors and partitions whilst further enhancing acoustic performance and air sealing. Gaps are usually found at service penetrations through walls and floors, gaps left for any structural movement or due to substandard workmanship. Fire integrity is lost when the building contains holes, cracks or openings that would allow flames or hot gases to pass through. Such occurrences make the whole fire protection system ineffective unless rectified. When designing a fire protection system it is critical to note that different types of plastic pipe will react differently under fire conditions therefore no one single system or product can protect all services. Fire protection CS ltd  analyses the particular requirements of the project and the material used for piping to deliver penetration sealing systems that ensure full fire integrity whilst being cost effective and complying with the latest regulations and legislation. We welcome all projects and can assist clients in designing the package, selecting products and full installation.
